Loctite Thread Sealants

LOCTITE Thread Sealants offer an effective and inexpensive method to seal pipe joints and prevent potential leakages. Being a paste, they can be applied easily between the threads of metal pipe joints. Once applied, LOCTITE Thread Sealants harden into a tough thermoset plastic and prevent leakage of gases and liquids by sealing the pipe tightly. After gaining full strength, a pipe thread sealant can withstand a pressure of up to 10,000 psi, which is more than the pressure resistance of most pipe systems.
LOCTITE vs Thread Tape
Thread tape allows for better fitting of threaded pipe joints. However, it does not eliminate all the gaps which LOCTITE can fill completely.
LOCTITE vs Thread Paste
Thread paste dries up to form a seal between pipe joint threads. However, it shrinks while drying and does not eliminate the gaps which LOCTITE can fill completely.
WHY CHOOSE LOCTITE THREAD SEALANTS?

Reliable seal threaded
pipe fittings:
- Seals up to the burst
strength of most
pipe systems
(pressure resistance:
68.9 N/mm2)

Outperform thread
tapes and pastes:
- Allows joint adjustment
post application - Does not clog or
contaminate lines

Prevent Galling
and Corrosion:
- Protects threads
from corrosion - Controlled lubricity
to prevents galling

Permits disassembly:
- Low and medium grades
of thread sealants
allow disassembly with
standard hand tools

Increased Durability:
- Compatible with a wide
range of fluids,
chemicals and solvents - Thermal resistance upto
150oC and higher
HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT LOCTITE THREAD SEALANT?
Confused about what type of LOCTITE thread sealant you need? To find out a suitable thread sealant, simply answer the questions mentioned below:
- What type of substrate requires the seal?
- What is the maximum thread size?
- What is the temperature resistance?
